Greetings From the Sitka Sound
July in Sitka means it's Salmon Season! The beautiful waters surrounding our majestic island are open for our small artisanal fleet to sustainably harvest the bounty of Sitka in harmony with the natural supply of the ocean. We are currently fishing for King and Coho Salmon one at a time, by hook and line, with careful intention. That means there are no delays in our King fulfillment. We are keeping our salmon boxes listed as pre-order to commit to working within the limits of our natural resources, so now is the perfect time to order and ensure your catch!
In Southeast Alaska, July also marks the beginning of some of the best weather of the year and the true start of our fleeting summer. Eighteen plus hours of light is the norm this time of year, and Sitkans know how to take advantage while they can, for there will most assuredly come a time of dark and quiet and rest...later.
