Sound Off: June 2022

Greetings From the Sitka Sound

June in Sitka brings even longer days, the sound of birds filling the forests, the return of the fishing fleet to Southeast Alaska and tourists - who have begun cruising and flying into our beautiful town with greater number of visitors than we have ever seen before!

We have been getting a slow flow of King Salmon as the season began. Due to fisheries regulations our fishing fleet won't be able to bring in large amounts until the season fully opens in July, currently fishing is open only in specific areas at specific times.

We will begin fulfilling our pre-orders next week, in the order we received them and will continue to do so as we gain stock. The best bet, to get your King as soon as possible, is to be sure to Pre-Order Now, so you receive your box as soon as we have stock. All King boxes should be set to ship, without delay, beginning in the month of July. Please remember, we are now shipping all orders the third full week of every month. This month's orders are set to leave our facility next week, June 21st through the 23rd. Please watch your email for your tracking link and allow at least 24 hours for it to update once you receive it. In order to be sure to receive all important communications from us, including information about shipping delays, please add lifeboat@catchsitkaseafoods.com to your safe sender list.

From the Kitchen

This Wild Alaskan Halibut Matbucha with Raisins, Capers, Olives and Pine Nuts is a recipe that our Wild Alaskan Halibut absolutely sings in. Our friend Leetal Arazi/New York Shuk created this incredible dish and made it a cinch for you to replicate! Her signature sauce is readily available to stock your pantry shelf, right here. Not to mention her other delectable spices, seasonings, and sauces! We recommend one of everything!
