By catching fish on hook and line, our family fishermen forge an intimate relationship to the ocean that sustains us.
Alaska’s fisheries are strictly regulated with longevity in mind. Many of our fishermen run family operations, and fishing sustainably means that their children will have access to our fisheries and bountiful waters. Our fishermen are the ultimate stewards, safeguarding this resource for generations to come.
All of Catch Sitka’s seafood is fished via hook-and-line methods, with the exception of our spot prawns, which are caught during a small sustainable pot fishery in the fall. Our fish is then artisanally processed at our dockside Sitka facility.
Step #1: Our fish is caught locally by hook-and-line vessels
Our fish is locally caught by hook & line fishing families and delivered directly to our dockside facility to be processed, packaged, & shipped.
Step #2: Our fish is immediately processed at our dock-side facility
The fish is immediately processed by our highly skilled team of artisan processors. Fish are filleted and sectioned into portion-size pieces.
Step #3: We freeze our fish to -30 degrees in our commercial blast freezers
Our commercial blast freezers seal in the fresh flavor of the day your fish was caught and the incredible nutritional value!
