Sake Simmered Black Cod

Sake Simmered Black Cod

Sake Simmered Black Cod:

Black cod, otherwise known as sablefish, or as we like to call it at our house, butter fish, literally melts in your mouth. Although I have a hard time choosing a favorite fish, black cod is definitely in the running. It is so unbelievably moist and tender and is practically impossible to overcook.

Ingredients:

  • 2 Catch Sitka Seafoods Black Cod fillets
  • 1/2 cup Sake
  • 1/4 cup Rice Wine Vinegar
  • 2 Tbs. Avocado or Olive oil
  • 2 Tbs Soy Sauce or Coconut Aminos
  • 1 Tbs minced ginger
  • Sesame oil
  • Toasted sesame seeds
  • Sliced green onions
    Directions:

    1. Combine sake, vinegar, oil, soy sauce, and ginger in a sauté pan
    2. Bring to a simmer over med-high heat
    3. Place fish in the pan, skin-side down
    4. Spoon sauce over tops of each fillet to cook
    5. Simmer until cooked through, about 5 minutes depending on thickness
    6. Remove fish from pan and continue to cook sauce until reduced
    7. Serve fish drizzled with sauce and sesame oil and sprinkled with sesame seeds and green onions

    Enjoy & Best Fishes!
