Sake Simmered Black Cod:
Black cod, otherwise known as sablefish, or as we like to call it at our house, butter fish, literally melts in your mouth. Although I have a hard time choosing a favorite fish, black cod is definitely in the running. It is so unbelievably moist and tender and is practically impossible to overcook.
Ingredients:
- 2 Catch Sitka Seafoods Black Cod fillets
- 1/2 cup Sake
- 1/4 cup Rice Wine Vinegar
- 2 Tbs. Avocado or Olive oil
- 2 Tbs Soy Sauce or Coconut Aminos
- 1 Tbs minced ginger
- Sesame oil
- Toasted sesame seeds
- Sliced green onions
- Combine sake, vinegar, oil, soy sauce, and ginger in a sauté pan
- Bring to a simmer over med-high heat
- Place fish in the pan, skin-side down
- Spoon sauce over tops of each fillet to cook
- Simmer until cooked through, about 5 minutes depending on thickness
- Remove fish from pan and continue to cook sauce until reduced
- Serve fish drizzled with sauce and sesame oil and sprinkled with sesame seeds and green onions
Enjoy & Best Fishes!
