Catch Sitka Seafoods: Sound Off: September 2022

Greetings From the Sitka Sound

September in Sitka sees the end of the Summer King Salmon Season (Winter King Season begins in November), the Coho Salmon (Silver) Season continues into October. Our artisanal fleet of longliners have dusted off their gear and headed back out to sea in search of Halibut & Black Cod. They will also bring back two of our Wild Alaskan favorites, Lingcod and Pacific Rockfish. These two species are only caught as bycatch right now as there is no directed commercial fishery for them at this time of year. We pride ourselves on being able to utilize the bycatch from our longline fleet and keep our promise of working towards becoming the world's most sustainable seafood company.

Remember, we ship once a month, the third full week of every month. Please watch your email for your tracking link and allow at least 24 hours for it to update once you receive it. Watch as Scarlett and Azure create one of our favorites, Wild Alaskan Halibut Taco meat! From there we will show you how we like to use it on tacos and nachos and how easily it freezes for future fast lunches and dinners! This should be at least entertaining, if not educational for everyone involved!
